Buy when the MACD line (12, 26) crosses above its 9-period signal line, exit on the opposite cross.

Rules

  • Timeframe: daily candles
  • Entry: MACD crosses above signal
  • Exit: MACD crosses below signal
  • Stop-loss: 4% below entry

Why it can work

MACD crosses mark changes in momentum; they work best when a trend is starting.

Where it fails

Many crosses in flat markets; consider an extra trend filter.
