Trend and moving averages
Hull Moving Average (HMA)
Hull MA is a fast, smooth moving average built from weighted moving averages. It lags less than EMA or SMA.
How to read it
- The slope (rising or falling) is the main signal.
- Colour or slope changes come early, so expect some false turns.
- Useful as a trend filter on intraday charts.
Settings
Common lengths 9, 20, 55.
Example rule to test
Rule to test: enter when the price closes above a rising HMA(20).
Common mistake
Expecting it to filter out all noise; faster lines react to noise too.
